Levee Works

A sad sky. With the major fires to the  North East, South East, and South West of us in the Bay Area, there is smoke all around. The whole area from Skyline Blvd (where the Windy Hill and Russian Ridge preserves are) all the way to the coast and the edges of Santa Cruz are evacuated.  They are trying to fight that set of fires with 10% of the forces that would normally be used - there are so many fires burning in the state now. My heart goes out to those immediately affected. And I feel so sad about the fires burning through the groves with 2,000 year old redwoods in Big Basin.
More heavy equipment with the eerie smoke-light in the extra - the skies immediately overhead have been clear today, quite surreal.
