Tides in !!!

Wide awake just after 5, just couldn't stop my mind wandering.......did eventually get off again!

We were up and breakfasted before 10 as we had commited to "go somewhere" today as it appeared to be last decent day weather wise for a few days.

Trouble was we couldnt agree on where to actually go, the best of the weather was inland, Manchester looked good, further afield to Grange or Arnside was not as warm nor sunny.....Rivington locally, a bit hilly for hubs knees, so as seems to be the norm these days we ended up in Southport again!

Certainly the most busy we have seen it since lockdown commenced.....but it still felt ok in terms of social distancing.

As those local folk will know, its not very often you actually get to see the sea at Southport. Today was high tide, to the delight of those youngsters who had brought their swimwear!!

The sun didnt really prevail today, glimpses here and there, but pretty disappointing overall. We had a coffee and sandwich beside the pier, walked the length of the pier, up and down, which is where I took this blip from....... then around the lake, up and down Lord Street and eventually back to the car....that was our 10k steps done ;-)

Called at daughters on our way home to put her bin away for her, then home, brew in the garden for a short while, until it clouded over, got very dark, a bit of rain, but didnt come to much.

Finished off making the soup using the ham stock, chicken & vegetables, then dinner, which was cold cuts of roast ham, new potatoes. and a mixed salad.

Not a lot else to report today......currently watching the new "Old Grey Whistle Test' with Gary Numan.....a blast from the past ;-)

Keep safe
