Bumbling Around

...in the last of the light.

A lovely evening after a warm day. It's supposed to cool into the low 60s tonight, which is wonderful. We've turned off the AC and opened windows, and now I'm listening to the homey rattle of the ceiling fan and shimmery cricketsong outside. 

Son D. is busy with an online class about political theory and tracking campaign developments, which tonight means watching the unconventional convention. I'm happy to let him report to me later. He's got a strong interest in strategy and a competitive streak, and a desire to help improve on things. Who knows where this will lead....

Daughter I. met up with a friend today for existential discussion and came away full of renewed drive to carry out scientific research relating to the environment. She's got a new interest in universities in the UK. Applications to be filled this Fall.

I got some writing done and met up with Shelley to hear the latest on the house hunt in West Virginia.
