Finally, it was 40 degrees F- (our cut off), grey, but not raining or blowing -so H and I went rowing! It felt really good to be out on the water. There must have been 1000 American coots in Union Bay all together in a flock that just separated and let us row through the middle and then reformed their group on the other side. This is a small portion. They like shallow marshy water.
