5 hours??!! &APPS?!!!! & a little bit of RANTING
Today I was left 'home alone' for 5 hours. 5 hours? That's a long time for me to be 'home alone'. But do you know what?......................... I didn't care. The last time I was left for that long was on the 16th March when Ann went out with the friends she was out with today.
For the whole of lock down Ann worried about how I would cope when I got left 'home alone'. For more than 3 months I only got left by myself for one hour a week while Ann went shopping for Mrs R. The rest of the time I was with Ann 24/7. Obviously as lock down rules relaxed I've been 'home alone' a bit more. But not for 5 hours??!!! Apparently life isn't all about me!!!!
Today I went out for about 45 mins first thing in the morning and then late morning I went to the park for an hour. This is a BLIP of me running across the bridge to get to the part of the burn where I could go for a wallow.
This afternoon Ann went out with her friends to the 'Slug & Lettuce'. They'd pre-booked (though it was actually quite quiet) but were told they'd have to order via the app. Grrrrrrr...................... Obviously this is going to become the norm in the future, but for Ann and her 60+ friends, part of going out for a meal is actually looking at the menu and having someone to serve you. As it turned out, they were seated in a part of the restaurant that didn't have any wifi connection, so a real live person had to come and take their order. Yay!
Then they went to a Weatherspoons pub for another drink. Ann left her details to be 'traced & tracked' (but thought it was now mandatory for everyone in the party to leave details). Because Ann volunteered herself as the 'lead person' none of her friends had to leave any details. To be honest we don't think anyone knows what's happening any more. The rules are changing daily and unless you have time to watch Nicola Sturgeon doing her daily briefing at 12.30am who knows what's going on?!!
Had to order via an app AGAIN. Grrrrrrr................ One of Ann's more techie friends managed to do this. Or so they thought???...................... but the double whisky plus a glass of lemonade arrived in a half pint glass with all the lemonade poured in. Seriously??!!! And how do you say you only want one lump of ice via an app???? That resulted in one of Ann's very grumpy friends heading to the bar to find a real live person.
Oh and the other absolutely ridiculous thing that happened........................ half way through their drinks, a waitress rocked up at their table with another trayful of drinks which Ann and her friends hadn't ordered but would have drunk given half the chance.
Waitress – 'This is table 28. The drinks have been ordered for table 28'.
Ann & Co – 'We haven't ordered any more drinks'
Supervisor appears – 'Oh it must be table 28 at the Weatherspoons pub further along the road.'
Sooooooooooooooooo...................................... the moral of this story has to be;
1 If you're ordering via an app make sure you sign into whichever pub you are actually in. You obviously can't just click on the first Weatherspoons pub that appears via your app.
2 If you're dishonest and in a Weatherspoons pub, keep waiting. You might get a trayful of free drinks.
Anyway after 5 hours Ann came home. I was happily snoozing in my bed. She took me for a little walk but it was really cold outside. She gave me my dinner but I was still tired so I haven't bothered eating it.
I'm back in my bed doing more snoozing.
Goodnight peeps. xxxx
