Day 152

We had booked a timed slot for the Tate Modern this afternoon. just as well it was 2pm as we discovered yesterday all strains were on rail replacement service to Waterloo. Going was not too bad as everything slotted in nicely and it only took an hour and half instead of the 40 minutes it would normally take. home was a different story. train conductors didnt seem to know which rout he was travelling as the announcement was different as we got going to the one given out as we got on the train. At least our destination was the same. Just over 2 hours later and we were home after much hanging about.
13,400 steps were done and we all ached. Some of the art work in the Tate appealed and some didnt. Long queues to get in and many were turned away as they handy prebooked.
Walking along the South Bank it struck us how empty london was. The food markey was operating at 25% capacity. I can often eat thee but not today. In fact it was so slow the stall holder running the coffee stall was doing her knitting! the National Theatre,of course, was closed but had some of their costumes in the windows. I rather liked this one but as I couldn't get a clear image just took it as liked how it came out with the reflections.
The extras are just shots from the Southbank. London was a bit murky and we remarked that had we booked a meal in the Shard there would be no view, just cloud. The library in the Tate was very colourful
