Today's the day ……………………. to garden

It has to be a garden blip today, because that's where I've been for most of the day.

Not doing anything too strenuous, you understand, because it was quite hot (for round here at any rate).  But it's my idea of complete heaven to have a day to potter - with the usual breaks for coffee, lunch, and afternoon tea - all outside in the garden. 

And it's all pretty much looking after itself and deciding whose turn it is to flower - and who's had enough and is going to make a bit of seed.  The above is a new dahlia for this year that I'm very impressed with - and the extra is just a nice combination of colours that the Heleniums  and the Aster herveyi  thought up all by themselves. 

Have to dash though, because the barbeque is fired up and it's time to get some supper on the go ………………….
