Tetbury
We left our Airbnb accommodation this morning and decided to stop off at Tetbury on the way home.
This is a town neither of us has ever visited, it is a busy Cotswold market town with a very impressive church and an upmarket feel to the local independent shops and eateries.
We had coffee in the very nice garden of one of the hotels/pubs before a look round.
The very hot weather had broken last night although it was very warm through the night, today was noticeably cooler, threatening rain though still warm.
I took a look round the Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin and St. Mary Magdalen. The current church dates back to the 1781 though there has been a church here since 681AD. Restorations in 1993 attempted to undo much of the "Victorianisation" and return the church to the original Georgian plan. The main stained glass window is in the extras.
Back home now. We enjoyed our mini-break and look forward to the next.
