Organised

Today we took Mrs R to visit her disabled son in a care home. It was the first time she'd seen him in more than 5 months. And we have to say, it seemed very well organised. She had to arrive 15mins before her appointed time to sign in and get PPE'd up etc. Masks/plastic aprons etc. And then they had this gazebo type area where visitors could meet their relatives. Three comfy armchairs with a big clear plastic screen in between the two chairs that were facing each other.

The plan was......................... Drop Mrs R off, go and do her shop, take me to the park for a play with my ball and then pick her up again.

Best laid plans and all that.......................................

During lock down Aldi has become Ann's new favourite shop because there's never been any queues there. OMG! She went to a different Aldi today. What a nightmare?! No social distancing. Zillions of mothers with two/three kids why weren't they at school? And groups of two/three people shopping together. WHY???  She certainly won't be going there again.

I had to wait in the car and it took Ann so long to do the shopping that I didn't have time for a play in the park. Went straight back to the Care Home to pick up Mrs R and as we weren't sure where she would be, I got to have a little walk around the car park. And then we spotted her in this gazebo area with her son. Not sure if her son liked me but the nurses certainly did!!!!  Obviously we didn't enter the gazebo and Ann made sure she had her mask on.

It's so difficult isn't it? This Covid-19 thing has put a strain on everyone and you all know how Ann loves to have a RANT!!!! BUT, there's always someone worse off than you??!! We can't even begin to imagine how difficult it is for a lady in her late 80s not to be able to see her son for more than 5 months. And because of the Aberdeen lock down, not being able to see her daughter either.

Oh well, ho hum, at least me and Ann have each other.

….............And if anyone is interested..................... Once we'd dropped off Mrs R and her shopping, I went to Colinton Mains Park for a play with my ball.

Tired now!
