Now, as I see it......

Harrold

We had a house viewing this afternoon so needed to go out for a while.  We drove over to Harrold for a walk by the lake but it was too hot to walk far so we sat in the shade under a tree.  This is the view from where we sat; there were loads of dragonflies around, both the small bright blue type and larger brown ones.  I’ve added an extra of a brown one which I suspect was laying eggs under the water but I can’t be sure; I only noticed when I got the shot up on screen that it has another fly standing on one of it’s front wings.  Another extra which at first glance looks like raindrops on the water but was in fact some of thousands of pond skaters on the surface of the lake.

Another sweltering day; we’ve had 38.7C with 54% humidity so very unpleasant.  A bit of thunder rumbling round at the moment and the temperature has dropped to 26.0C but no rain yet.
