A day on the beach

After book group - a real one in Alison’s garden, discussing Ali Smith’s ‘The Accidental’ which got mixed reviews - Mr C picked me up and we headed for Whitley Bay to meet the daughters and children.

They had a great time and I was very impressed that Thomas and James shared their body boards nicely. Ella and Nathaniel would love to have them too. #2 daughter got into her wetsuit with the help of a poly bag and some hair conditioner and had a long swim. Ella joined her - despite having no wetsuit she didn’t feel the cold.

For a short while the haar came in and the lifeguards called in the swimmers and put up red flags but luckily the sun appeared again and they continued with sea fun.
