2020 Tuesday — Afternoon Excursion
I knew when we woke this morning and I noticed the static-electricity in my hair that the weather was changing. August on the Central Coast is known as “Fogust,” but for the most part the first 10 days of the month haven’t lived-up to this nickname. A thick blanket of overcast with a faint horizon line in the distance is not like fog, which veils everything.
But this morning the overcast began early to break into patches of cloud with beautiful blue sky. Just beyond noon we decided to go exploring. We drove south on Hwy. #1 toward Morro Bay and then the highway turns east toward San Luis Obispo, and that’s where these photos were captured.
We found the location of several entrances to the Bishop‘s Peak Trail. The flowers were found in the public gardens section of Emerson Park, which is quite close to the downtown businesses. The church is just across the street from the park. We drove several streets in the area looking at the architecture and the gardens and saw the old narrow pointed-roof garage. I would thoroughly enjoy spending a good portion of a day walking some neighborhoods looking at the beautiful old houses.
From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
