Lake Päijänne
We did a day trip to the lake Päijänne: first we drove to Kuhmoinen and had lunch there. Then we continued our journey to Pudasjoki. In the picture is a view from an observation tower called Tuomastornit. When we walked to the tower, Peetu ran free, because there weren't anyone else in the area. Peetu climbed up, before we reached the tower - he isn't afraid of high places! Lake Päijänne is the second largest lake in Finland. Lake area that can be seen here belongs to Päijänne National Park, which consists of small islets and bigger islands with steep rocks or sandy eskers.
On the way home we dropped by at ruins of the Church of St. Michael in Pälkäne. This medieval stone church built around 1495–1505 and abandoned in 1839, when a new church was built.
+26°C, sunny
