High Flier
This woman zipping across the valley at the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park brought back memories of the time I did it (see link) not in Scotland but in the Caribbean.
The safety measures on the island of the Dominican Republic were haphazard. I remember being alarmed to see a couple of old mattresses strapped to a tree in case the brakes didn’t work as I hurtled towards them.
One of the side effects of the pandemic and staycation this year is that we are revisiting old haunts.
Today it was the Queen Elizabeth Park at Aberfoyle.
We walked down to the Little Fawn waterfall (see extra) and I had forgotten just how beautiful this wooded park is. Also because of the pandemic visitor numbers are limited to 80 per cent capacity so there was ample room for everyone.
Oh yes, another side effect of our current situation- the day’s outing cost us nothing. Like so many other visitors we had taken a picnic and the visitor centre with its shop was closed. So no temptation there to spend money.
