Time traveling back 72 years

It was late afternoon, maybe closer to dusk, when I decided to get away from the computer screen, and go for a walk downtown. Rich and I managed to squeak into a local bakery before they finished putting away the day's goodies, and indulge in several delectable coconut macaroons and a white chocolate-dipped shortbread cookie (I'm getting lightheaded just typing the words).

After a brief stroll and some window shopping, we came upon this curvaceous beauty - a 1941 Chevy Standard Deluxe. Foolishly, I was about to walk right past her when Rich suggested, "Take a picture!". So, I did! I took a few. Here's her beautiful mugshot, and here is a side profile.

It's amazing to imagine how these same streets of Bellingham looked in 1941, 72 years ago. Interesting to think about the days surrounding this car's creation, coming off the assembly line, and how our paths would eventually cross at this moment in 2013.
