2020 Thursday — Spec House
Adams Point is on Ocean Avenue. I think it’s the last house in north Cayucos proper. I think the Cayucos Abalone Farm is further north (they are shutting down when the last batch of abalones mature).
I wish I knew more history of Adam’s Point. There are three houses right on the road between the Point and the highway (so not much traffic noise).
When we attended the estate sale there (in I think 2015), we were told that the Adams had sold off the land those three houses are on. We were also told later by a real estate agent that in the agreement with those three houses, the owners of Adams Point would never build a multiple story house.
Last night as we looked at the builder’s sign we spoke with a couple, who, like us, were lookey-louing, they said they had spoken with the lady in the first house (by the driveway) and she said through her disappointment, “I’ve lived here 30 years and enjoyed this wonderful view; so be it.” So it sounds as though she’s resigned herself to the reality that a two-story will be built in front of her place.
We purchased a couple items at the estate sales with the Adams’ name and address on it, but we don’t know much about the property’s history, except that it was owned by the Adams Family.
It appears as though it was once a large piece of land that has now been divided several times (but that’s all speculation).
A big beautiful Cape Cod style house would be lovely on that point. The song of the ocean and the breeze in the trees is fairly distinct there.
