Last day

So today was our last day exploring Edinburgh as we are due to drive home tomorrow. The weather was dry and humid but not as hot as it is down south at the moment. My son and I climbed to the summit of Arthur’s Seat - much tougher than it looked but worth the view. We were back down for lunch feeling a bit weary! After lunch my husband and I went off in search of some birthday gifts. Both our mothers turn 80 within the next month and with my Mother in Law originally from Glasgow and now in Canada we were searching for some Celtic jewellery. Success just in time before our pre-booked slot for the castle. It was very quiet up there which was nice. Afterwards we stopped for a drink at a nice outdoor patio above Victoria Street and decided to book in for dinner later. A quick pitstop and some packing and then we were out again. We had a lovely meal and enjoyed some buskers singing down below and watching the Harry Potter and other tour groups going by. We were lucky to catch the stunning sunset on our walk back.

We have done a lot of walking this week so maybe a day sitting in the car will be a relief .... but then again...
