Gypsy moth

The Gypsy moth Lymantria dispar . was a common species in the early part of the 19th century that went extinct as a breeding species about 1900. For a while it was only encountered once or twice a year as a migrant species (usually the males as they can fly much better). However since 1995 it has been a resident species again, in small numbers in parts of London. It seems to be having an especially good year this year, with lots of records popping up around me, so I wasn't that surprised to catch one in my trap last night as i have been expecting it for a while.
My extra is a Rosy minor, another pretty little moth I don't see often.
