Gateway to Another Land

Another in the series of RRDD (Regular Route; Different Day); it was a hot and muggy day, and forecast to get hotter, so we had a morning walk from Letcombe Regis to Childrey.  We had a nice takeaway coffee and flapjack from Childrey Stores as a reward.


We had spotted this cottage with unusual door furniture before (see extra photo for horseshoes and mummified rabbits feet!).  However, this large gate seems even more out of place, and - on a hot day - suggest an welcome entrance to a shady Indian or Arabic courtyard garden.
