Ben Nevis View

Lovely weather today. After breakfast we headed out for a long walk along the canal with zero provisions on the badly researched idea that there would be an opportunity for eating or drinking in Gairlochy which there wasn’t so walked 13 miles with no water and missed lunch. On arriving weary back at the hotel we decided fatefully to pop straight into the car and nip 3 miles up to the M&S food hall for something nice to eat and drink for a late lunch. Unfortunately in the 15 minutes that took the canal bridge broke down with us on wrong side of it a tantalising one mile from hotel. Eventually I got out the car and walked back to find out what was going on. Duly informed I called S. who had to U-turn and drive back a ridiculous diversion via Spean Bridge and a tiny back road. So it was after 4pm before we finally got lunch and 2 hours for the poor folk trapped on the road to the isles before the bridge reopened.
