The Road Less Travelled

Corpach Locks

We faffed about alot this morning before heading north 11ish. Scotland’s roads are a far better place without the tour busses. I know it’s an economic disaster and it was sad to see all the ghastly bus tour hotels boarded up but the long drive north was infinitely more relaxing with only private cars and the odd camper van en route. It rained heavily through Glencoe and we detoured via Kinlochleven to find some tranquility for our packed lunch stop. Our hotel room on the banks of the Caledonian Canal is most pleasant though and it was lovely to walk down to Corpach for a bottle of wine and to sit on our balcony and watch the world go by!
