Cousins
We were so lucky to get our day without rain yesterday as no sooner had we got home than it poured and continued heavily all night. That didn’t bother us as we were so shattered after our family day out - we slept 10 hours. Amazing!
I was on child supervision this morning while the parents got packed up. They wanted to finish the viaduct (Romans are it!) they were building in some sand they had found in a lane outside the campsite. It was so interesting to hear how they cooperated and discussed their project. Thomas (7)!and Ella (8) just got on with it quickly and efficiently. Nathaniel (6) and James (5) had to talk their way through it, But when it was time to leave the site it was a problem to get them to declare the project complete. Ella and Thomas complied but the younger ones just couldn’t leave.
James and Nathaniel has an animated chat as I accompanied them back to the camp. They thought when they were 18 they’d come back to this site. Nathaniel wondered if he’d have his own car. James said HE’D have an ENORMOUS truck. Nathaniel then
Said ‘Granny when I’m 18 I hope I have a phone!”
