Tuesday is Mahjong tea party day, when the group of us who used to play on a Tuesday now just meet for tea in each other’s gardens. Today’s hostess and her husband grow a lot of vegetables and their plot was most impressive with giant sweet corn, tomatoes, peas, beans, tomatoes etc. Before we left, our host gave us each a summer squash or courgette. They looked so attractive on the plate it was a shame to break up the display.
All the time I was sitting there I was watching a beautiful summer sky (extra). It has been a perfect English summer day, sunshine and a gentle breeze.
