Thatch hopping

Welcome back to the Alternative Olympic Games  2020 (AOG2020)

I don't know if you remember Percy from earlier in the tournament? (He is the judge in the Sparrow Hedge Hopping competition)

Anyway, this is his father, Pedro. 

Pedro has held the Thatch Hopping Gold medal position for a number of years now and is seen here on one of the trickier parts of the course. 

This is Day 2 of the TH competition and as you can see there are more intricate obstacles for the athletes to overcome. They are designed to ensure that the birds move their feet high over them in a high step. A skill which has been passed down the generations as Pedro was keen to tell me. 

I asked him how he felt it had gone when he had finished this round. He said, "Coo, coo, cool" Not sure if any of you speak pigeon but that usually means that they are quite pleased with themselves. 

In other news, I see that the Nectar Dipping is going extremely well and the finalists are lining up for the Big Day in that event. 

Do keep us posted with all events over the coming days. This is day 4 so the tag is AO20204 and the following days are simply AO2020 with the date in August as the last number.
