Offspring
Don't always turn out how you would expect. As most parents out there will testify!
A few days back I blipped Crocus sieberi Bowles's White. Todays offering is offspring from those plants. I collected and sowed the seed in 2009. Four years later we have 100% lilac flowers. How come? Well, many Crocus sieberi are lilac, these may be hybrids with a lilac form. Also, the white gene often misses a generation (in crocus at least) so perhaps the next generation will breed some whites. Come back in another four years!
Don't miss the true blue iris of the last three days!
