Memorial Orchard

This memorial orchard/wild flower meadow has been planted in our village in remembrance and tribute to those in the parish who gave their lives in WW1. It's small, but very pretty, as is the house in the photo. What a beautiful position it's in, right by a clean flowing brook and a park.

I actually wanted to get a picture of our village centre with all the eateries with the parasols and tables spread out onto the pavements, but there was so much traffic going through the village, and the scene was somewhat spoilt by  the signage of an estate agents. All that, and I'm not totally happy and confident at taking street photography.

So I headed off down the Heron path towards the church and this orchard.

I've added an extra of a headstone I looked at, not sure if I'm being 'dense ' and can't read the inscription correctly. Where is James Stevens buried? Is this the grave of both of his wives?
