Wheech!

"Wheech" is a great Scots word which is a whoop of delight.

We had a "Homecoming 2009" event tonight in school, opened by the pipers playing "A Man's a Man for a' that", with the words behind them for the audience to sing.

The kids also acted out scenes such as "Twa Corbies" and "Tam o' Shanter" - all great fun.

A great story connected with the event is that Lyall, a first year pupil, heard that Barbara Dickson was disappointed that she had not been asked to play at any of the Homecoming events.

So, he wrote to her, and invited her to our event. She sent a lovely reply, saying she couldn't make it, but how much she appreciated the thought.
