I think they’re lovely

But I know they ruin certain plants.

We grew up calling them Cabbage Whites. Now we know that’s the lazy name. We still use it for a fluttery white, but there are three distinct varieties.

Large White
Small White
Green-veined White.

I saw about a dozen various white butterflies in Pipe Hill Heathland, but the exact totals for each were a challenge. 

It’s ok when they pose.

None of the Speckled Woods were being cooperative.

And the dragonfly was having none of it......
