Never a truer word said...
Thank you for all your lovely comments on yesterday's Esme blip. Apparently she was asleep before the car was at the end of the road and slept right through till 8.15am. Unheard of. She also had a long lunch time nap. Looks like Esme is finding socialising again as exciting and exhausting as the rest of us! lol
Since it was raining heavily, I had a lazy morning. This afternoon I got myself organised for a visit from friends who are coming for afternoon tea tomorrow (and staying for dinner, which one of them volunteered to bring! Woo hoo :-)
David's mum's china tea set has been looked out, as well as a little table cloth that belonged to her and Irish linen napkins that I bought many years ago (well afternoon tea deserves proper vintage crockery and linen :-) After lunch I made some goodies for tomorrow - scones, which will go in the oven just before they arrive, and Empire biscuits.
I had planned to bake other goodies but with yesterday taken up with family, I ran out of time. As a result David was dispatched to Gloagburn Farm Shop to get the rest of the sweet stuff.
So all organised. Just need a couple of hungry mouths to pitch up tomorrow :D
