A steamy blip

Unexpected torrential rain this afternoon, very welcome as it’s filling the water barrels and giving the allotment and me a good soaking

I planned to go to the allotment this afternoon to water, feed and weed. In the end, despite the rain I watered and applied feed, getting watered myself into the bargain!

Sopping wet when I came home I did some more watering in the greenhouse then transferred some 150litres of rainwater from the barrel to the pond.

This was my second visit to the allotment today. The early morning visit was to help unload a trailer full of horse manure and cart in to our compost bins. It’s a good job we weren’t doing the carting in this afternoon’s weather.
