Nearly home
We were out shopping - again! Well, we have got family coming next week. This was taken just as we headed down to the village on our way home - Dufton Pike on a fine, but cloudy day.
We wore our masks in the shops, as we have been told to do, and it would seem everyone else was doing so too. What is very annoying though is to then read in the local paper that there have been outbreaks of the virus in the Eden Valley and in Carlisle. The former are related to house parties and barbecues where several households mingled. The latter have been traced to four pubs/clubs in the city centre. So what is the point in so many of us being obedient and wearing face masks in shops, which have been managing very well with social distancing measures for a while now, when people are able, and actually encouraged, to get together in social situations where neither social distancing nor the wearing of face masks is possible. I wonder how many virus cases have been tracked to shops!
