Pretty Flamingo

Over to The Folks again today. I spent most of my visit on the phone to a mail order company my Dad had bought almost £100 worth of stuff from well  over a month ago. The cheque had appeared on his bank statement too but the items had not yet arrived. 

I'd tried contacting them before and just heard a recorded message saying that Coronavirus - related reasons meant they were behind with orders but if the payment had been collected the items would have been dispatched. It always said that there was a high demand on the lines and to call back later. 

Well this time I was actually put through and into a queue with 60-odd people in front of me! I decided I should stay on as I may not get chance again, and ended up being on the phone for over an hour, listening to music ranging from a Russian funeral march to someone shaking a biscuit-tin full of nails before I got to speak to a real life person named Kieth! 

Kieth was helpful though it took him half an hour - his computer screen apparently kept crashing! Apparently three of the things ordered had not yet been dispatched. The other, a rotary clothes dryer was allegedly "lost in transit" How the Hell anyone could "lose" something the size of one of those things is beyond me! Another of them and the other items should now arrive within 5 - 7 days, so we shall see!

This morning Zeph accidentally knocked the water filter jug onto the floor, so I fetched another from Wilko's - I had to get a particular type as I'd just recently bought a large box of filters that I did not want to waste. They had a nicer one than the old one with three filters on special offer fortunately!

Before coming home I treated myself to this here in my Blip - A Flamingo Frappe! It was delicious!
