The Severn at Ironbridge
A late game of golf at Telford was enough to encourage me to make a detour beforehand to visit the Ironbridge Gorge for a photo opportunity.
It was not too busy and once you go across to the Broseley side of the river, away from the shops, it is quieter still. I knew there were some fishermen's pegs close to the waterside with views up to the 'world famous' iron bridge that spans the river. It's hard to believe that I would have been more than 6 feet under water had I been in the same position 6 months ago!
It's rightly pointed out that this area is the birth place of the industrial revolution, but it might equally be true to say it was also the first step in recent times towards global warming. Any way that's too deep for us today. It was a lovely hour walking around the area and a good opportunity to capture an image for this week's wide Wednesday theme of water.
