Blistery

Thank you for all your well wishes from yesterday, I’m fairly certain it all sounds far more dramatic than it really is!

I had hoped that today’s blip would be of Comet Neowise - our bedroom points in the correct direction but I think there is just too much light pollution and I’m not really in any fit state to go out hunting for it :-(

So you get the photo of my manky wrist that I sent the Derriford Immunologist. I think the blisters are where there is just too much fluid in my arm and it’s trying to escape? One popped at the hospital so was gently seeping last night, which was nice.

After last night’s excitement I actually slept until the phone woke me - the doctor calling me in response to the photos I’d emailed over at 8pm before it all kicked off.

He was about to go into clinic so assured me he’d call back later but he’d chase up the blood results and get in touch with the GP in case I needed to be referred to rheumatology and for possible antibiotics if I’m fighting and infection as the steroids would be suppressing my immune system. He then asked for up to date photos of the swellings/hives.

He called back later, he’d had my blood results and after discussing with colleagues they think they may have a diagnosis but need a skin biopsy first. Unfortunately the steroids I’m on will affect the biopsy so they’re not going to do it at the moment. Anyway, I am to be discussed further at a multi team meeting on Thursday so this could all change! The good news is that he doesn’t think I need antibiotics so can cancel the appointment at the GPs.

I did however get a Covid-19 test - again triggered by the ZOE app from recording my symptoms. Eldest again played taxi and took me to the rugby club to do the test. I really don’t think this is C-19 related but better safe than sorry.

The day passed slowly with me feeling sorry for myself - one woman pity party - trying to get comfy. Late afternoon, Princess and I walked Smallest to the secondary school for his tour, we sat outside in the sunshine while he went in and I rang my mum for a telling off for scaring her :-0

Once home my business partner & his wife popped in with flowers and sympathy and another telling off!! Apparently it’s only because they care ;-)

This evening we watched another episode of The Luminaries in an attempt as distraction before I went to try and spot Neowise...
