Reasons to be cheerful

# a pink snow capped mountain viewed from the bedroom as we arose
# a kea bouncing around in the field - much bigger than you'd think
# a nibble of Esme's halloumi as it was going into her lunch box 
# painting the last windows in the conservatory, looking good
# eating lunch al fresco (pitta breads since you asked)
# admiring a lark as it rose warbling above us 
#seeing little lambs frolicking under a huge oak tree
# watching three sheep munch away at some fallen oranges
# a walk on Ligar beach (two blokes swinging from the trees)
# a bag of kiwi fruit and mandarins left on out doorstep
# a rather nice sunset
# a sliver of a new Moon just appearing
Much better than reading the news.
