Iris histrio

The global distribution of this Reticulata section species runs from Israel via Lebanon and Syria as far as southern Turkey. With such a wide, wild range it is variable, all have a blue ground marked and spotted with darker blue and a flat yellow stripe on the f alls. This one is at the pale end of the range and hails from Turkey. I grow it under cold glass where it increases only very slowly.
