Malabar Rock Pool

We walked from south Maroubra across the headland to Malabar intending to return via Boora Point, in the background, but the track was closed. There’s a rifle range in there, and the shooting is towards the track. Instead we continued south, skirting a golf course which had its own hazards.

This swimmer was braving mid-winter temperatures to do laps of the pool.

The extra is Malabar beach, which doesn’t usually attract surfers but there’s been wild waves this week.
