Sweet sleep

One happy Grandpa !
We took it in turns to hold Arthur while he slept . We have various places for him to sleep but this seems his preferred option for the moment .

Tomorrow we will see Nathanael for the first time since the start of March , on a beach under umbrellas and socially distanced but together !

Blackburn is newsworthy at the moment as a  Corona hotspot . The rising number of cases are linked to multigenerational families from South Asian backgrounds, our area is particularly affected . It’s good to know it is possible to identify clusters and also encouraging to have an excellent director for public health in our authority . There has been an increase in the number of testing sites which will in turn detect more cases and  lead to a higher number of cases . We have been instructed to wear face masks whenever in enclosed spaces , except at home ! Hopefully the  return to full lockdown will be averted , the government haven’t yet made it clear what would trigger a lockdown . Economically the borough can ill afford a further lockdown as it ranks amongst one of the most deprived regions in the country .

We feel ok personally as we haven’t really changed our habits since the start of the crisis. I feel sad that it is the multi generational families that are suffering as it seems a much more humane way to live than in the more usual nuclear families . I also hope that it doesn’t lead to sections of society getting blamed  If we go into a second lockdown .

Such strange  times to navigate for all of us .
