MULE DEER

Photo of Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus) buck taken in Roosevelt Natl' Park in North Dakota. I saw him from a distance so I stopped the car, grabbed the long lens and knelt behind the car to get this shot. A second later he bounded down a hillside and into a deep ravine...doubtless chasing a doe or two as this was rutting season.

Extra photo: Shortly after I saw the muley, a group of White-tailed deer were seen "playing" in the Little Missouri River. They genuinely seemed to be playing as they jumped into and out of the river chasing one another. All appeared to be does.
