Today's the day …………………………. to socialise from a distance

We've just been out for our first, socially-distanced, bar meal in a local Beer Garden - and it was all rather strange.

Nothing wrong with all the procedures put in place by the hotel - they had done their very best to cope with the demands upon them.  I'm sure it has taken a fair amount of work and effort to do it too.  But quite frankly, can there ever be a place which is 100% safe, unless perhaps you install all the barriers and protective clothing used in the Intensive Care Units of a hospital?

So all you can really do is cut down the chance of exposure to the virus - and just hope you're lucky.  We are already lucky here in Dumfries & Galloway because the number of cases at the height of Lockdown was very low.  But this weekend, there are lots of tourists about from who knows where, acting as if things are back to (the old) normal.

Trying times for many people - in many different ways …………………...
