beeeach!

Mersehead RSPB Reserve on the Solway reopened today and I thought it would be a good place for Luke and I to have our last Fire Friday. Luke goes back to Edinburgh next week and I will miss our nights down by the river. I have also missed the beach during lockdown so this was a bittersweet experience :-)

AS you can see, the tide was out - a long way out! Luke and Jess ran over the sand to the water's edge and they were gone for what seemed a very long time. You can see the Robin Rigg wind farm in the distance, the Cumbrian coast and the Lake District hills.

There was no shortage of driftwood for a fire, and sadly there was also quite a bit of rubbish, since no beach cleans have not been possible for the past few months. We took a bag away with us, mostly plastic drink bottles.

It was such a beautiful evening and a lovely drive home as the sun went down.

What a treat :-)
