Back to Shugborough

On the first weekend they opened the parks and gardens of National Trust properties, I posted a photo of their overgrown butterfly garden.

Just under a month later, I headed back. There were volunteers and staff all over the place (all socially distancing) and they’ve done lots of catching up.

It still feels natural and magical but they have mown and tidied. The calves and lambs were stealing the show with lots of the family groups. I was so impressed that the little ones seemed to have the message about staying 2 metres apart from other groups. It was a super, friendly atmosphere.

I went really early, arriving for the first slot of 9.00, but it was quite busy when I left after 10.00.

I managed to get the tickets mid week and during the day. It’s looking as though the website and booking system are less complicated and infuriating.

Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.
