Carnoustie stones

For the first time since lockdown, Mrs P and I drove and took a longer walk, much as we used to do. We wanted to see the sea again, and picked Carnoustie as having a good car park and no narrow paths. It was no busier than usual, except the play area and scooter areas were popular.

Normally we'd walk all the way to Arbroath and get the bus back; this time we turned around in sight of Arbroath. Although we've been walking almost every day, we both found the longer walk a bit of a struggle at the end. 

We were greeted by this long line of painted stones. My blip shows about half of them, and it was a moving example of community spirit. I hope we can keep it up.

In honour of our first long walk, I have added a few extras - Cinnabar moth caterpillars, a view of Carnoustie, and a new monument at East Haven to WWI Airdale Terriers, trained at Carnoustie and nearby Barry Budden. (I'm not totally convinced  by the monument myself.)
