Tawny Longhorn Beetle
A day of shopping, cleaning and garden tidying in preparation for a small gathering to celebrate Ben's birthday meant there was little time for photography. This Tawny Longhorn Beetle was my only subject - it certainly seemed to be enjoying the Field Scabious in our garden.
The birthday celebrations were good - a small group of close friends spread out in the garden, with a newly purchased fire-pit providing a focus and keeping us warm as it became dark (sometimes too warm!). I was just about to head to bed when some neighbours set off fireworks to celebrate Independence Day, most of which exploded over our garden. A fitting end to the evening.
