annual trim

This is Mr Inkface up the ladder going to give the annual trim to the ivy. He picked a very cold day to do it and had to come in several times to warm his hands and have numerous cups of hot coffee. It's a north facing wall and nothing much grows except the ivy which also provides lots of shelter for the wrens and also lots of little insects for the birds.
