A Shopping Trip!

Off to St Boswells this morning to show support for our wonderful independent bookshop.

It was all a bit strange. We thought it would be busy and we'd have to queue (in the rain) but it wasn't. Not sure if that's entirely  a good thing. 

They were very well organised with lots of space and a clearly marked one-way system, hand-sanitiser, notices about using it, huge screen at the checkout, take-away coffees and cakes, etc, very efficiently delivered. I hope they do well, they have tried so hard. And we need places like this, little outposts of civilisation ...

But we had to rush home, as the heating engineer rang to say he would be round in an hour (he wasn't due till Monday). He's the first person other than ourselves to cross our threshold since the end of March. We should have had a ceremony ...

But it's Fizzy Friday today, so a glass of bubbles, and a couple of new books to read. If only it was a bit warmer ....
