Blacketts Lighthouse

Such a wonderful morning, we woke to clear skies (finally) and a very hard frost.  Once the sun had risen it didn't take long for our living area to warm so no need to light the fire.
I spent sometime this morning preparing my images (doors and gates) for my Sunday Zoom session.  This within the last 30 minutes has been rescheduled to tomorrow, so just as well I did the preparation today.

We decided to go out for lunch, which was lovely....then supermarket shopping.  We then called on our friends and spent a very happy afternoon with them sitting in the conservatory putting the world to rights.

My blip was taken after lunch - its part of our lighthouse which is white with a red dome, loved how the light is squeezing through, it begged to be mono.  Following is a bit of history.......
"This is a section of Blackett's Lighthouse (built 1876) which, after 2 shifts and made redundant in 1970 is now situated above Benvenue Cliffs, Caroline Bay, Timaru.  It originally functioned with a kerosene lamp, replaced with gas in 1890, electricity in 1920 then a flashing light in 1948.  In 1889 Blackett was appointed Consulting Engineer in England for NZ Govt. He returned to NZ in 1892 but died the following year."
