Our witch hazel is blooming!

And I finally got outside to enjoy it this afternoon! Though I look out on this tree from the kitchen window, I was delighted to get wafts of its fragrance (along with that of the sarcococca) while I puttered and did more yard clean-up. I'm often discouraged with my garden, because I'm several years behind on maintenance, but when I can just go out and work/play in it and enjoy what's there, it is still a delight.
