Clearing the Jungle
Well, not literally the jungle, it's the wild area behind the Red House. Without an annual clear it becomes full of small trees, shrubs and lupins. Last year we didn't spend much time here so this year it is even tougher. I was starting work on the facade of The Red House so it was HarlingDarling doing a brilliant job!
I don't think we have ever actually planted anything here. The lupins (which we are trying to get rid off) have self-sown, all the greenery is natural Swedish countryside stuff, and the small whiter flowers on the rock in front of Jan were planted by the previous owner of our property, at least 35 years ago. Large rocks are a feature of this corner of the garden. Some have a natural cover of mosses and lichens, which we leave, others we have cleared to make a feature.
Even the wild corners need some work!
