Feeding Time
A friend and I explored Caspers Wilderness Park looking for birds. We were treated to some wonderful sights. We found a tree of Western Bluebirds. When we passed the tree from a different direction we spotted a couple of juvenile Bluebirds.
One of our favorite encounter is when we saw an Ash-throated Flycatcher on a stump. Upon further observation we saw that there was a pair of them gathering insects from nearby vegetation and apparently feeding young in a tree cavity.
The tree cavity was probably made by woodpeckers. There were lots of Acorn Woodpeckers in the area.
